Gluten-Free Friendly Restaurants

Be sure to tell the waiter that you are Gluten Intolerant and/or carry a Restaurant Card with you that explains that you are gluten intolerant or have celiac disease and why you can't have gluten.

Acapulco's Southwest Gold
Arby's
Andina
Bone's Steak & Chop House - No GF Menu, but Chef Sean is very well versed in preparing gluten free meals. When asked about items on the Sunday-Monday Football appetizer menu, Sean said that the tortilla strips were not normally fried in their dedicated fryer, BUT he would put them in their dedicated fryer for a GF dinner or go out and buy some GF chips. Menu changes seasonally.
BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse
Brooklyn House - A great choice for a yummy and hearty meal. They are very aware of the gluten free community and have been using local gluten free products from places like Bavaria Mills.
Burger King - Click on Nutritional Downloads - Make sure to ask when you get there if they have separate fryers for your french fries and that they DO NOT share oil from the other fryers.
Burgerville - Some of these restaurants have separate fryers for the french fries. Make sure to talk to a manager to confirm that they are safe and that they DO NOT share oil from the other fryers that cook fried foods.

Garlic Jim's Pizza
Godfather's Pizza
Gustav's German Pub and Grill
Hawthorne Fish House
Joe's Crab Shack - It's true they do have a Gluten Free menu, but
their fries are NOT Gluten Free like I was told. They use filtered oil from the other fryers and sometimes have to share a bath with fried calamari! Not Gluten Free and Not Safe.

Old Wives' Tale
Outback Steak House
Papa Haydn
Pastini Pastaria
P.F. Changs China Bistro
Pizzicato - Try their 16" Genovese pizza with a pesto base, fresh spinach, red and yellow peppers, roasted garlic and feta cheese on a gluten free crust. Delicious! They are now also serving Widmer Bros Omission Beer in Pale Ale and Lager. Widmer has developed a process to remove the gluten- but not the rich beer flavor. Ask for Tracey Frankel.
Red Robin
Ruby's Coffee Shop
Subway - Some of these restaurants are better and more careful about cross contamination than others. Be proactive and make sure that the servers wear gloves and get your meats and produce from the back where they are supposed to have products that are gluten free and safe.
Taco Time - The new Taco Time Fit Hits Menu has four gluten free items: Baja Taco, Chicken Taco Salad Light, Southwest Chop Salad and White Chicken Chili.
The Grant House Restaurant - (formerly called the Restaurant at the Historic Reserve) No GF menu, but chefs will make suggestions for GF options.
